Le Local – Montreal, Canada

4 Oct

If you are ever in Montreal I highly recommend you pay a visit to Le Local. It was suggested by a local man whom we met on vacation this year. It was spot on. I had to chuckle a little because I took my parents to what is considered to be “a see and be seen kind of place”. It is very hip and trendy with dark lighting and a techno beat in the music that I will have to say makes it a little hard to hear.

Our meal was fantastic. I am providing a couple menu descriptions to give a sense of the thoughtfulness and creativity they put into their food. For an appie I had what I consider to be the best beef carpaccio I have ever tasted. Canadian beef Carpaccio, truffle and salted herb tapenade, arugula, parmesan and dijonnaise sauce. My Moms fish melted in your mouth. Pacific halibut, olive spaetzlel, shrimp, buttered niçoise salad, artichoke purée, chorizo and pine nut vinaigrette, granny smith apple. You get the idea. It’s amazing! Make a point to if you are ever in Montreal.
